Cake pops are some of my favorite things to make. They are super delicious! Cake pops are, well, cake on a stick. It sounds hard to make but it's really not that hard. It takes a while to make but otherwise it’s simple.
The first step for making cake pops is super easy. You just make a vanilla (or any kind of) cake. Cake mix makes it easier and faster to finish making it, but you can make the cake by yourself too. You can find lots of good recipes for cake online.
Once you bake your cake, take it out of the oven and let it sit for a while, so it’s not too hot. Next, while it’s still in the pan, crumble the whole cake up. Make it into little crumbs, and try to make them all the same size.
The next step is to make the frosting. Beat 7 Tbsp butter in a mixer on medium speed until it is creamy, then add 1 ¾ cups of confectioners’ sugar, 2-3 Tbsp heavy cream, and 1 tsp vanilla extract with the mixer running on low. You can use other frosting too, but I don’t know if it will work.
Add the frosting to the cake and then mix it until it looks like dough. Take one Tbsp of the mixture and shape it into a ball, and put it on a plate. Do that with the rest of the mixture, then put it in the refrigerator for 2 hr, or the freezer for 1hr.
Once that is done, let them warm up for a few minutes, then take some candy coating, (vanilla or chocolate) and melt it in the microwave. (you can add food dye to make it colorful.) Take a cake pop stick and dip the dip in the coating, then stick it in the cake pop ball. Then dip the cake pop in the coating, let the extra drip off, then if you want, dip it in sprinkles. Stick the cake pop stick in a piece of styrofoam and let the coating dry.
Then comes my favorite part: Taste testing!
