Linda Sue Park’s new book is called The One Thing You’d Save.
First, we won’t give any spoilers for you but this book is really good.
The main plot is the teacher Ms. Chang asks the class, “Imagine that your house is on fire. You’re allowed to save one thing. Your family and pets are safe, so don’t worry about them. Your Most Important Thing. Any size. A grand piano? Fine.”
Linda Sue Park wrote about 100 poems for the book but only used 39. Her type of poetry was sijo. Sijo is a type of ancient Korean poetry. You can read about sijo in her author’s note.
All in all, it is a great book, hope you read it!
