This year, the snow’s been high - really high. In fact, a record breaking amount of snow has covered Shorewood. The temperature feels like -30°F because of the wind, and it won't reach 30 degrees until Feb. 21. Milwaukee has broken a 20 year record, and that’s something to wow about!
But how do you feel about these frigid temperatures? You might feel happy that you could play in deep snow all day, digging the deepest tunnels and building the highest snow towers you’ve made in your whole life. But on the other hand, you could be dreading the bitter weather, wishing every moment that you could be swimming in the Caribbean, or sunbathing in the Sahara desert - ANYTHING but this. Here are some pros and cons about the snow.
One pro is that - well, duh - you can play in the snow. This could mean sledding, ice scating, snowball-ing, snowman-ing, snow forting, tunneling, or snow-angeling. You get to choose!
One con is that you, or someone else in your house, has to shovel all that heavy snow onto that already towering pile. It grows larger and larger and larger and larger until you have to crane your neck just to see it!
But that could actually be a pro. You can pretend you're climbing Mount Everest, you can dig a tunnel through the pile, and you can shape the mound into the Statue of Liberty - the possibilities are endless!
On the other hand, maybe you're wishing the snow will stop. You want to hike in the woods, or swim in a spring, and the snow pretty much stops anything like that from happening.
Either way, this year's snowfall was a big thing. Whether you are excited about the snow or not as excited, whether you decided to build The Snow-Statue of Liberty or sled down the steepest, scariest hill ever, you probably think that the snow's been a wow. And it has. A record is a big thing, you guys, and we're living in one! From towering snow piles to snowball fights, we can tell you guys one thing: there's so much snow!
