A taskboard or rotation chart is an excellent way to organise a guided reading programme. This board/chart needs to be in a place that is easily seen by all students and students will need to be taught how to read it. Pictures are particularly useful for younger students. These taskboards can be designed on a display board, corrugated flute board, or the whiteboard. Velcro dots or magnets can be used so that the activities each group is scheduled for can be regularly changed.
The following charts show how a teacher might schedule a one-hour literacy session.
