STUDENT
Any damage to property, equipment or possessions that is deemed to be wilful, or caused by careless behaviour, will be considered to be the responsibility of the pupil/s concerned, and consequently the responsibility of their parents/caregivers
The Principal has the responsibility to determine if the damage has been caused by wilful or careless behaviour
Parents/caregivers of the child/ren involved will be contacted in writing, reporting the damage and the cost of repair/replacement
Parents/caregivers who have the necessary skills may opt if they choose to repair broken items themselves
Parents/caregivers will be responsible for the cost involved in repair/replacing the item involved
Any child who repeatedly engages in vandalism will be brought to the attention of the School Board and discipline may follow in accordance with school policy
PUBLIC
Any vandalism to property, equipment or possessions that is deemed to be wilful, or caused by careless behaviour and has been identified as being of a public nature, e.g. through a break in, burglary or other causes, shall be reported to the Principal and/or School Board Presiding Member who will notify the Police
Having notified the Police, the Principal and the School Board will follow the guidance and instruction/procedures outlined by the Police in following up any wilful damage
Risk Management will be notified by the Principal and/or the School Board Presiding Member in order for insurance inspections to be carried out. The Principal and the School Board will follow the guidance and procedures of Risk Management to enable the school to receive the appropriate insurance
