This volunteer agreement is made between Southland Adventist Christian School and ___________________ (hereafter known as “Volunteer”).
This agreement will commence on _______________________.
Your position will be a Volunteer. You agree that you do not expect to be remunerated for work performed as a Volunteer.
The duties are as set out in the attached list. It is accepted that Southland Adventist Christian School can change these, after consultation.
You agree to work _____________________. Volunteers are expected to work within close proximity of a school employee.
Specific tasks will be agreed and reviewed at least every six months with the principal.
Either party has the right to terminate this agreement at any stage, upon one hour’s notice.
You agree to work without financial reward.
You will have use of the staffroom facilities.
You will notify the principal, if you are unable to attend at the agreed time and day.
You agree to adhere to Southland Adventist Christian School Policies and Procedures.
Professional behaviour and attitude is required in your dealings with management, students, other volunteers or staff.
An appropriate standard of dress is required at all times.
Adults assisting in the school will be expected to behave in an appropriate manner with children and other adults and to maintain confidentiality about situations which may arise during their time at school.
Volunteers are expected to uphold and maintain the Christian Special Character of the school.
The volunteer will agree to be police vetted. The volunteer will not be able to work with children until the clean police vet has been received. If the volunteer does not have a clean police vet, this agreement will be terminated immediately.
Where you have access to confidential information you will not, without proper authority during the continuation of your volunteer work, or after its termination, disclose to other persons, organisations, or make use of for your own benefit, any confidential information relating to Southland Adventist Christian School.
Unless prior written agreement is obtained from Southland Adventist Christian School, copyright and similar proprietary rights in all work done, as a Volunteer will belong to Southland Adventist Christian School.
Attention is drawn to the provisions of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992.
You are required to be proactive in taking all reasonable practical steps to ensure the safety of yourself and others affected by your work, and to co-operate fully with management in implementing Southland Adventist Christian School Health and Safety Policy and Procedures.
Southland Adventist Christian School has a smoke, drug and alcohol-free work environment. It is a condition of the Volunteer Agreement that this provision is accepted.
Southland Adventist Christian School retains the right to drug test any volunteer. If the volunteer does not have a clean drug test, this agreement will be terminated immediately.
You accept that at all times Southland Adventist Christian School collection and property under your care must be safeguarded against any loss. You will ensure that all reasonable precautions are taken to protect it. Failure to do so will be considered to be serious misconduct.
You can raise matters with the principal. If the matter is not resolved to the satisfaction of either party, you can contact the school Board of Trustees.
This Agreement replaces all previous agreements whether express or implied.
