GUIDELINES
Sun protection is recommended from September to the end of March, especially between the hours of 10am and 4pm
During Terms 1 and 4, sunhats which provide shade for both face and neck must be worn by all pupils who are participating in outside activities, in unshaded areas
The school will take an active role in encouraging the children and staff to use sunscreen – it will be available for use. Suitable clothing to be worn ie. Tops with collars and sleeves (no singlet tops), shorts and skirts to the knees
Teachers will attempt to minimise planned outdoor activities during the middle of the day
At the beginning of Terms 1 and 4, caregivers are to be advised by the school newsletter to review their child’s provision of a regulation uniform sunhat for school
When students are in the care of staff during EOTC excursions, all students will be advised to wear sun hats and sun protection
In order to minimise the outbreak of head lice, staff will ask students to name their hats and students will be informed not to use hats belonging to other students
Hats will be named and staff will ensure that each student wears their own hat and not someone else’s
