GUIDELINES
In the unlikely event of a child going missing the following procedure will be followed:
All children will be called together for a register and kept inside the school or venue. A member of staff will then search the venue and the surrounding area as quickly as possible
If the child is found - the staff member involved will document the incident including the time when it was noted that the child was missing and when they were found
If the child is not found - the principal or teacher in charge will document the description and details of the child, the time when it was noted that the child was missing and by whom
The police must be informed as soon as possible with the description details ready to be relayed
Parents will be contacted and informed of the actions that have been taken and what will happen next
The Principal will inform the Board Presiding Member
Staff are to remain in close contact with their class students during this time
Staff are accountable to the Principal and police procedures
