It is vitally important that after manufacturing a product that you test it and reflect on the process through completing an evaluation. If you made mistakes, or no mistakes (!), it is important to understand why. Answer the questions given to you by your teacher, honestly and completely. Use all of the space provided. Ensure that you pay attention to your spelling and grammar as mistakes could mean a lower mark. This is known as QWC (Quality of Written Communication). Exam boards mark pupil coursework and examinations in this way!
Evaluation – Other opinion
You should start your Evaluation by asking others their opinions of your final Lamp. It is really important to get feedback from others about your design work.
Use some, or all, of the following questions:
Are they happy with it? Do they (honestly) like it? Do they think there are areas for improvement? What do they particularly like about it? Do they think it is well finished? Do they think it is well made? Do they like the design? If you made it again for them would they want you to change anything? Would they use it?
You could use a google form to help you gain the opinions of others. You should collect and display the information you gather on your portfolio. Include your own summary comments of what you found out.
