Designers are ofter inspired by things they come across or experience in the world around them.
Below are some examples.
Apple has been a leading developer in the world of modern day electronic products but many of the designs were inspired directly by the work of a designer called Dieter Rams who worked for a company called Braun.
This product by the designer Philippe Starck’s is called Juicy Salif and it is considered a masterpiece of industrial design. The squid-like lemon squeezer was apparently inspired by a meal of squid and lemon.
Before you start to think about Designing, it is beneficial to create an Inspiration Board. This is a collection of images (photos, shapes, forms, buildings, products) that inspire you (look good!).
You should create your own Inspiration Board (images you can look at that will help you to design). Keep in mind you intended user group. The images you collect should inspire you to design for your user group. Make sure there is purpose to each image that will help you design!
Create an Inspiration Board for your lamp project. It should include a minimum of 20 images on one slide or page.
You can use Google slides, procreate or any other collage app. The page must include a title and your images.
Submit your work to the Google classroom assignment and also add your completed inspiration board to your website portfolio.
Clear flow if ideas that visually explain possible design ideas.
Good collection of matching images but the title seems to stand out and doesn't match in the same way.
Balancing the photo layout is important when creating clusters of images.
Nice selection of images and use of background but the title lacks design!
Grid-like photo layouts can work well to create a full poster.
Clear colour scheme but perhaps the subject matter hasn't been shown clearly unless the design is to follow swirls, patterns and colour bursts.
Clear theme but could include a wider variation of researched ideas or themes.
