For my CAS project, I decided to raise funds for PAWS Bangkok, a rescue cat shelter that helps abandoned and stray cats by giving them medical care, shelter, and a chance to be adopted. At first, I planned to sell instant noodles at school to raise money. I spent time planning the details, but in the end, I couldn’t do it because of scheduling conflicts. There was no time that worked for selling at school, so I had to come up with another idea. Instead of giving up, I changed my plan and decided to sell cookies in my neighborhood instead.
To make sure I didn’t waste any cookies, I set up a preorder system. I asked people in my community if they wanted to support the fundraiser by buying cookies, and those who were interested filled out an order form. This way, I only baked the exact number of cookies people wanted, which helped me stay organized and manage my time better. It also made the process smoother since I didn’t have to worry about extra cookies going to waste.
This project taught me how to be flexible and solve problems. Even though my original plan didn’t work, I found another way to raise money and still make an impact. I also learned a lot about organization because I had to keep track of orders, plan when to bake, and make sure everyone got their cookies on time.
After raising the money, I went to PAWS Bangkok to donate it in person. It was really rewarding to see the shelter and know that my efforts were helping the cats. I also got to play with them and feed them, which made the experience even better. Seeing how my project made a difference showed me how small actions can help a community.
