Blue Ocean Heritage (BOH) is a non-profit organization that strives to help the Thai oceans by monitoring reefs, deploying artificial substrates, picking up trash, and freeing fish. This initiative started purely from the love of the oceans, resulting in the urge to protect them for future generations. ). These marine biologists have helped us to learn about the biology of the aquatic ecosystem and the creatures that live in it. For the project, one thing we did was travel to Pattaya. We learned techniques to clean up reefs and oceans safely, without injuring or breaking any other corals, and properly dispose of garbage back up on land.
We also attended and had a booth at the TDEX 2023 fair with Buddy Check Diving Center. During this event, we opened a booth. We talked about our initiatives to reduce plastic in the ocean and coral plantations and the EMP (ecological monitoring programs) we are doing. During this event, I mainly focused on networking and handing out BOH t-shirts and mesh bags to well-known dive companies. This experience helped us immensely as these companies said they would hang our logo and use our net bags during their trips, which gives us good exposure.
Another thing we did was sell goods at the school cultural fair. Every week after ROTC, we would prepare for the fair at Ton Nam's house, tying bracelets and necklaces and folding clothes and bags for sale. Ultimately, we made 200+ pieces of merchandise and ordered numerous pastries to repackage and sell. On the day of the fair, we all came early to set up the booth, hung up bags, set up price displays, printed out QR codes, and helped repackage pastries. It was a school day with many cool booths, and we also wanted to visit the cultural fair. We all spent our morning breaks and lunches at our stall selling goods and sold nearly all our pastries, clothes, bags, pins, and plushies.
