One of my most memorable CAS experiences is my Annual Charity project and the process leading up to it. This event is a yearly tradition where we perform music at Chomdong Villa and Garden, with all proceeds from the concert being donated to Siriraj Hospital—for example, to support cancer research or fund care for patients who need medical assistance but don’t have the means to pay for it.
Leading up to the 2025 concert (held on January 25th), we practiced at least once a week since our 2024 concert on March 23rd. During our rehearsals, there were several changes, such as shifts in key signatures and song selections. However, as a band, we were able to agree on decisions and adapt, which helped everything run smoothly in the end. The experience of preparing for a concert is always memorable. It gives us a chance to reflect on previous performances and see how our style has evolved. It also lets us revisit songs we’ve played in the past and decide which ones we want to bring back.
For this concert, we played a total of five songs, with special guests—including professors from Mahidol—joining us on stage. This year’s concert felt especially enjoyable compared to previous years because I’ve grown more confident in my playing. I felt less pressure and didn’t worry as much about the performance going perfectly, which allowed me to enjoy the moment more, have fun with my friends, and play more freely.
After the performance, we donated the proceeds to Siriraj Hospital directly, handing the check to the Dean himself. He gave us a tour of the hospital and explained its history, which made the whole experience feel even more meaningful. Being able to see firsthand who we were helping, and understanding the real-life impact of our music, made me feel hopeful and proud. It also left me excited for future concerts and more confident in both my own abilities and the collective strength of our band.
