Adding a New Training Template

To add a new individual training template follow these steps:

Navigate to Employees > then click on Role Requirements (top right)

Then click '+ New' in the top right:


NOTE - if you have multiple sites, please add the templates at your highest access level to ensure they are available to all sites beneath. This would normally be your client level.

Select 'Non-role required training'.

Complete the fields. We default to 'minor' for severity and a 14-day lead time for existing training, but adjust as needed:

Title  - Name of the training

Severity of the task  - tasks appear in severity order on the site when due.

Submit interval - How often the training should be reviewed, e.g., every year or month. Use 'none' if this training doesn't need to be reviewed.

Lead time - When the reminder task will be created. 'None' means you'll be notified on the due date.

Task Title - will be defaulted, leave this.

Task Message - add a custom message if you want one to show when the task is due eg external training provider details otherwise leave blank.

Click on 'Save individual training template' at the bottom when you're done.

This new training template will now be available to add to employees.

Note - you can also create a new training template when you add new training to an employee - If the training item you want to add isn't in the list (i.e., it's never been used before), click '+ New Template' in the top right then follow the steps above:

Adding New Role Required Training

If you want to add a training type that's compulsory for one or multiple roles, you can do it yourself, or the Opus team can help you.

Note  - if you add this to a role it will create tasks against all staff using this role to upload the training certificate.

Go to the Role Requirements page by navigating to the All Employees page and clicking on the Role Requirements button. 


You will see all role required training, eLearning and checklists. Click on the New button in the top right

Choose 'Role-required training'.

Then tick which role(s) the training applies to

Tick the confirmation box and then click 'Save role required training'

Tasks will now be generated for managers to upload the training for every employee with the roles you selected.
