Stanley continued to run until he was sure that no one was chasing him. Although he had planned to go to the Big Thumb, he doubted he would be able to and decided to turn back once he had travelled half the amount that he thought he could. As he walked, he continuously looked in the holes surrounding him. When he looked in one, he saw a large family of yellow-spotted lizards looking up at him and began to sprint away. When he was satisfied that he was safe, he saw an empty bag of sunflower seeds and spotted one seed. This seed would be his lunch.
