Kate Barlow arrived at Green Lake after 20 years. The lake was gone, all the peach trees had died. It was an abandoned town. There was only an abandoned cabin left. She felt crazy and missed Sam. There was an unexpected knock at the door. She saw Trout and Linda. They threatened her and asked where she hid the loot. They made Kate Barlow walk on the hot ground. When Kate collapsed they saw a lizard running towards them. They tried to hit it, but failed. The lizard bit Kate Barlow and then she laughed.
