Dear Summerside Families,
As we move into May together, it is a good reminder of how time flies when having fun, working hard, learning, leading, and succeeding together!!! We still have a lot of learning left in this school year and opportunities to show what we know together, as well as celebrations ahead for all of the hard work we have accomplished this year.
All students will be engaged in benchmark assessments in the coming weeks, showing what they know in literacy and math skills, to provide clear evidence of how far they have come this school year. Once completed, look for end-of-year reports to come home the last week of May. We use this data to continue to guide instructional decisions for each individual student, including in the creation of balanced class lists.
We also use our registration data to guide our decisions which is why it is so imperative to get your child re-registered for the 2023 - 2024 school year! To complete the re-registration process for your child(ren), you will log into your PowerSchool Parent Portal account. Below are the links on how to access the parent portal and re-registration directions. You can also find these links on the WolfPack Hub, located at: http://westcler.org/hub.
Please complete the re-registration process as soon as possible. We have about 22% of our Summerside students re-registered for the new year - let's see how quickly we can get that to 100% in the days to come!!
Know a soon to be five year old?!!! Talk with your neighbors and friends to encourage them to get their incoming kindergartners registered for the new school year. Click here to get started on the enrollment process.

Updated 3/17/23
Hello Families,
First, thank you so much for your effort, donations, and those who are volunteering their time to help out on our field trip.
Due to the weather forecast of thunderstorms and rain all day Sycamore Park is encouraging us to reschedule. So, we are postponing our field trip to Thursday, May 18th.
Chaperones please let us know if this date will still work for you - We are so sorry to give you such late notice - we had quite a few moving pieces to put together and were also hoping the weather forecast would become more favorable. We had to coordinate with Sycamore Park and Transportation.
That being said - it is our hope that the weather is more promising on Thursday, May 18th. Please let us know if you are still able/willing to join us on our field trip.
Thank you!
Mr. Michael Toth Mrs. Peggy Simmons

Spring Perception Survey
Our Summerside PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) team would like your feedback!
Please complete this Google Form.
Results will be shared in upcoming PTO meetings and in our newsletters as your input helps guide our actions. Thank you!
PBIS
Summerside currently has two Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) Teams that meet monthly. Our goal is to ensure all students have access and support to our building-wide plan and to provide extra assistance to those students who struggle behaviorally.
Our Summerside Building Wide PBIS expectations are:
Take Care of Yourself
Take Care of Others
Take Care of Summerside
When teachers and/or other staff notice any particular student struggling with expectations on a consistent basis, that student may be referred to our PBIS Tier 2 Team. The team reviews data to determine if more support is needed.
We would like to make sure parents also have an avenue for referral to the PBIS Tier 2 Team. If you feel your child needs additional behavioral support at school please contact your child’s teacher. Your child’s teacher will be able to provide some insight and a referral may be sent to our Tier 2 Team. A member of the PBIS Tier 2 team will be in contact if the referral is found to warrant adding your child to our Tier 2 intervention.

Recently, West Clermont released the Talking to Your Kids About School Safety and Wellbeing Discussion Guide as part of Volume 2 of the WC Roadmap Report. We recognize that school safety may be a tough topic to discuss at home so we developed the guide to help with the conversation with the support of the West Clermont Citizens Advisory Commission (CAC). The easy to use resource has two parts that consist of a Discussion Guide and an in depth survey. We urge you to take some time to have these important conversations with your kids.
