Summerside families,
It’s hard to believe that this past Thursday, 10/6, marked our 7th week of school! As many of you may know, our district began a robust engagement process last spring with a series of town halls. These were very successful in terms of attendance and gathering information on the issues YOU care about. If you'd like to explore all of the feedback, suggestions, and YouTube Live recordings from all of our previous community town halls, check out our Town Halls section of the WolfPack Hub.
Today, I'm writing because I want to personally invite you to our next town hall, which is coming up in two weeks on Thursday, October 20th at W-T Elementary. The Town Hall will begin at 7 PM, but we encourage participants to arrive a little early if at all possible.
Space is limited so RSVP to save your spot!
In preparation for the Town Hall, we encourage you to watch this short video that provides some important background information on all the great things happening at West Clermont Schools.
And finally, if you haven’t had a chance to participate in our REACT Review survey yet, please take a few minutes to complete that here.
I can’t emphasize it enough - your feedback, your ideas, and your perspective not only matters to us, but it helps us in making important decisions each and every day.
I look forward to seeing you on October 20th!
Sincerely,
Natasha L. Adams
Superintendent & CEO
West Clermont Schools
Grade-level newsletters will be updated every two weeks.
Our Discover team newsletter will be updated quarterly.
Students in Mrs. Cantor's first-grade class read Goggles by Ezra Jack Keats. Here is a quick YouTube video if you want to enjoy the book with your child too! *Please note, this creator is not affiliated with or endorsed by WC schools. All content following this video is at a parent's discretion.
We encourage all families to partner with their child's teacher during the fall conferences.
PTO is hosting a book fair during conferences on 10/13. We encourage you to celebrate your child's hard work with a special trip to the book fair that evening as all are welcome, even if your conference night is scheduled the week before. Only volunteers will be permitted into the book fair during the normal school day.
Camp Dates: Wednesday, November 3 - Friday, November 5
We encourage all fifth graders to attend.
The cost is only $65 per student thanks to the PTO Kroger Plus card initiative - please click into that opportunity to continue to keep the cost of camp reasonable for years to come! Our PTO will support with scholarships as needed as we do not want cost to be a deterrent for any family.
Thank you to all who were able to attend our information meeting this past week. Please look for a packet of information sent home with your child with more information.
Between bathroom accidents, cafeteria spills, and holes in pants, the health clinic is in a pants shortage. Please consider packing an extra pair of pants in your child's backpack. We have had to call parents and guardians during the day to bring up extra clothes. Gently used pants and shirt donations are always welcome too. Thank you!
Lost & Found
Our Lost & Found collection is building! If your child is missing a belonging, please encourage him or her to look on the cafeteria stage. We will also have the Lost & Found items laid out in the main hallway on conference night (10/13/22).
PTO Skating Party Tuesday, October 11th 6:30-8:30
PTO Book fair October 11th-14th
Thursday, October 13th, Parent Teacher Conferences
The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Summerside! Students will be able to preview the book fair on Tuesday, October 11, and then visit the book fair with their class on a scheduled day throughout the rest of that week. A book is an outstanding way to celebrate your child's hard work and to continue to encourage the joy of reading!
The book fair will also be open the night of conferences on 10/13, 5:00 - 8:30 pm, and all are welcome, even if you are conferencing on 10/5! Only volunteers will be permitted into the book fair during the normal school day. Parents who wish to shop with their child are encouraged to attend during the evening hours.
Look for volunteer sign-ups soon as we will need people to help run shifts on 10/12 - 14 from 9:30 - 3:30 and then 4:30 - 9:00 pm on 10/13.
Thank you to our PTO Co-Vice President, Emma Gromek, for taking the lead on this opportunity for our students and families!
All meetings are scheduled from 6:30 - 7:30 in the Summerside Cafeteria
