Dear Summerside Families,
Did you know that we currently have 588 students enrolled at Summerside Elementary and when we send out this update each week, it goes out to more than 1700 parents and guardians? Did you know we are projected to gain more than 100 students in the next year in our building alone and more than 190 students in the next five years? There are many more facts to learn from our recent WC board meeting where Superintendant Mrs. Adams and Treasurer Dan Ramano shared our State of the Schools. You can find the recording HERE and the presentation HERE to review for greater insight into where we are as a district and school and where we are heading together.
We encourage all Summerside Families to attend OUR upcoming Town Hall on March 23 at 7:00 pm at Summerside. If you have already been to one this year, we thank you and continue to encourage you to attend as every time you do, you walk away with greater insight and more importantly, the opportunity to have your voice heard. At this time, we have 12 Summerside parents who have RSVP'd out of the 1,700 who receive this update each week. Please talk with your friends and neighbors to come to the table, hear where we are as a district, and be a part of sharing your perspective on how we can continue to be a district on the RISE together.
Help Write West Clermont’s Next Chapter!

Thank you to all for participating in our fun door decorating contest in honor of #LOVEWC week. THE WINNERS ARE.... Mrs. Nicole Maupin and Team 248 for the upstairs and Mr. Trey Moore, PE door for the downstairs!
An honorable mention goes out to Ms. Sarah Frazier and Team 210 for their above-and-beyond window decorating that you can see when you pull up to the building!
A shout out to our Fifth Grade Morning Announcement Crew for doing an outstanding job representing Summerside as they lead our Board of Clermont County Commissioners in the Pledge of Allegiance on Wednesday morning!
A reminder to all who are picking a child up in our car line, please have your car tags present and easily seen in your front window for our teachers to quickly pair you with your child. IF your child's car tag has fallen off their bookbag, please have them report to the office to request a new one. IF you have lost the two parent tags that we have printed for you, please request new ones by emailing our office assistant, Ms. Tara Chapin, Chapin_t@my.westcler.org. Please note, that without the car tag in the window, we will need to see the adult's identification to ensure we are releasing to the appropriate adults. Finally, we ask that all parents remain in their car as our students walk down the pathway as it is difficult for our adults to navigate and ensure all children are getting in the correct car.
Students in Mrs. Cantor's Homeroom celebrated Whacky Wednesday!
Small group instruction in math class with Mrs. McGee.
Spring parent-teacher conferences are right around the corner on Thursday, March 9, 2023. Your child's teacher will be sending home a letter with specific students who they feel it would be beneficial to connect with for a conference since there are limited time slots for spring conferences. If you did not receive a letter and you are interested in attending a conference with your child's teacher, you can reach out to them to request one. Teacher contact information is linked at the top of this newsletter.

Your Voice Matters More Than Ever!
West Clermont is hosting a series of 25 IN-PERSON and VIRTUAL Focus Groups in March and April. Each focus group will include 8 -10 participants and lasts about an hour. We’re eager to have people from these community groups involved:
Parents and Caregivers
Teachers and Staff
Alumni
Local Businesses and Service Organizations
Local Faith-based organizations
Residents and community members
In-person focus groups will be held during the day and early evening at West Clermont High School. Virtual focus groups will be held in the evening and allow you to participate from home using Zoom. All sessions will be seeking your insights on creating FUTURE-READY STUDENTS. This is an opportunity for you to join a group of other community members that care deeply about the future of West Clermont. Sign up today, and we’ll contact you with more information about dates, times, and topics.
Recently, West Clermont released the Talking to Your Kids About School Safety and Wellbeing Discussion Guide as part of Volume 2 of the WC Roadmap Report. We recognize that school safety may be a tough topic to discuss at home so we developed the guide to help with the conversation with the support of the West Clermont Citizens Advisory Commission (CAC). The easy to use resource has two parts that consist of a Discussion Guide and an in depth survey. We urge you to take some time to have these important conversations with your kids.
We are listening to our students, families and community members and creating a path forward together to ensure all students are future-ready with a competitive advantage. Please attend one of our upcoming Town Hall Meetings.
We have made all feedback or suggestions from our community from our town halls—as well as the YouTube Live recordings of all of our public town hall events—available to the public on a special section of our WolfPack Hub, which can be accessed by clicking here or visiting westcler.org/hub and then clicking on the "Town Halls" button.
Our next public Town Halls are scheduled for:
March 23, 2023 at Summerside Elementary (4639 Vermona Drive)
April 27, 2023 at Amelia Elementary (5 East Main Street)
