Dear Summerside Families,
We are so LUCKY to be together at Summerside every day and this past week was no exception! Be sure to see below for pictures of so many smiles and reasons to celebrate being a Summerside Eagle! We kicked off the week on Monday with school families, focusing on Honesty. Students discussed questions like, What does it mean to be honest? ❷ How do you feel when somebody isn’t being honest? ❸ Why is it important to be an honest person? Mr. Gapper from the Cincinnati Reds visited Summerside on Thursday to simply celebrate our students and staff. Friday was St.Patrick's Day with all sorts of shenanigans happening in classrooms to catch leprechauns.
We also continue to work hard in our classrooms every day with a continued focus on what mastery of standards looks like at each grade level with each content area. Third-quarter report cards were released this past week to give insight into your child's continued growth in each area. Residents and community members
In-person focus groups will be held during the day and early evening at West Clermont High School. Virtual focus groups will be held in the evening and allow you to participate from home using Zoom. All sessions will be seeking your insights on creating FUTURE-READY STUDENTS. This is an opportunity for you to join a group of other community members that care deeply about the future of West Clermont. Sign up today, and we’ll contact you with more information about dates, times, and topics.
Recently, West Clermont released the Talking to Your Kids About School Safety and Wellbeing Discussion Guide as part of Volume 2 of the WC Roadmap Report. We recognize that school safety may be a tough topic to discuss at home so we developed the guide to help with the conversation with the support of the West Clermont Citizens Advisory Commission (CAC). The easy to use resource has two parts that consist of a Discussion Guide and an in depth survey. We urge you to take some time to have these important conversations with your kids.
We are listening to our students, families and community members and creating a path forward together to ensure all students are future-ready with a competitive advantage. Please attend one of our upcoming Town Hall Meetings.
We have made all feedback or suggestions from our community from our town halls—as well as the YouTube Live recordings of all of our public town hall events—available to the public on a special section of our WolfPack Hub, which can be accessed by clicking here or visiting westcler.org/hub and then clicking on the "Town Halls" button.
Our next public Town Halls are scheduled for:
