Dear Summerside Eagle Families,
We are officially in the holiday season! We hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving holiday with a chance to slow down and enjoy family and friends. Our first few days in December were certainly beautiful and set the continued tone of learning, leading, and succeeding at Summerside!
Benchmark assessments are in the works at Summerside and throughout the district in the next two weeks. These assessments will help us monitor your child's academic progress since the start of the school year. Look for communication of specific assessment days from your homeroom teacher and listen for your child to share their progress and the process of reading and/or completing computer assessments in class. The results of these assessments will be shared in early January to continue to guide our partnership in meeting your child's academic needs together.
Here's to slowing down the next two weeks because we all know they will fly by in a flash!

Speaking of learning, leading, and succeeding, students in Mrs. Flaherty's kindergarten class have MASTERED counting to 100 by 10s! You can ask your kindergartner to join you in this practice and then celebrate with jazz hands!

School Fees and Lunch Money
If you are experiencing problems with Autopay on the PaySchools App, you will need to contact the Support line through PaySchools at 1-877-393-6628. Child Nutrition does not have access to PaySchools in order to answer your questions. PaySchools is aware that there have been issues in regards to payments posting and balance discrepancies on student lunch accounts. For updated balances, Child Nutrition suggests registering for a free Titan Account. The link to do so is family.titank12.com.
Duke Energy Project at Summerside
Duke Energy Project at Summerside
At the October 12 West Clermont School Board meeting, a representative from Duke Energy shared an approved urgent project to upgrade a gas line that runs under I-275 with an access point on the side of Summerside's landline. This improvement allows Duke to continue to provide safe and reliable gas services with minimal disruption to our community. The project is projected for 1/2/2023 and will be completed within 4 months.
In the next couple of weeks, we will begin to see work crews as they set up for this project and secure the area to ensure safety for all and ease of access to the building for Summerside families during school hours.

Our Parents Night Out Event was a HIT!!
Our Parents Night Out Event was a HIT!!
Fun was had by all with so much to do and celebrate together! From dance parties to bingo, crafts, and paper airplanes and so much more in between!!!! As parents picked up their children, they were smiling too!
Thank you to Sadie Williams, Betsy Brown, Ashley Suppe, (Committee Chairpersons), Nicole Vicario & Shanna O’Dell (teacher leaders) for leading such a special event for our students and families! A shout out to all of the volunteers who also supported the success of this event, including grandparents, Mrs. Finamore, students from the West Clermont National Honors Society, and so many parents willing to spend an evening having fun with so many students!

Winter Weather and School Closings
As we move into wintertime, it is important for everyone to be prepared in the event we would have to close our schools due to weather issues. We encourage you to check out the article on our website entitled, "How Emergency Weather Decisions Are Made in West Clermont."
District-Wide Notification System Test
In addition, next week we will be conducting a district-wide test of our all-call and email notification system. On the evening of Tuesday, November 29th around 7 PM, we will send both a phone call and an email test notification to all West Clermont families. Our system will notify the student contacts that parents/guardians submitted during the annual re-registration process each summer. If you do not receive the phone call and/or email, or you wish to change the contact numbers on file for your student, please contact your child's school office.
Coming soon: An Updated WolfPack Hub!
This coming weekend, we will be launching an updated version of the WolfPack Hub on our district website. The WolfPack Hub is your "one stop shop" as a parent or guardian. It's where you will find information and the links to do things like:
Report absences
Pay fees
Look up your child's grades
In addition, you'll be able to:
Access the district calendar
View breakfast and lunch menus
Find the dates and times for school building events and activities
Get the links to various forms
Find resources in our community for families
