Dear Summerside Eagle Families,
We are so thankful for our partnership with our Summerside families and community members in how we are working together to raise happy, healthy, independent people! Your children are our future and every day, our staff comes to work with that in mind, striving to support the future they see for themselves and that you see for them too.
Reading is such a foundation for that future and our work at Summerside is focused on helping students access text, to learn to read and read to learn. Reading Rockets offers strategies and tools for parents, families, and teachers to help children improve their reading skills. Here is a monthly tip link for parents on Creating Holiday Learning Traditions from this site that might spark some holiday fun.
Our Turkey Trot is this Tuesday and our students are SO excited!! When they arrive at school, they will have a new Turkey Trot t-shirt ready for them to wear for the day's events and as spirit wear all year long. Please note, the weather looks like it will be beautiful and cold so please be sure to dress your child accordingly as we will be trotting outside!
Thank you so much to our incredible PTO and chairpersons for this event, Mrs. Rood and Mrs. Gyarmati. These two parents organized our biggest fundraiser of the school year, reaching $17,963 as of Friday morning! Online donations will continue to be accepted until Sunday, 11/20, at midnight; if anyone earns a prize during this time they will be rewarded after Thanksgiving break. If someone made an online donation, yet did not turn in their envelope, their prize will not come until after Thanksgiving. Please email
summersidepto@gmail.com with concerns or questions. Thank you for your donations and support as these funds will go directly back into the hands of our students!
The next Summerside Eagle Update will be sent on Saturday, December 3rd as we hope you all find time to be with family and friends over the Thanksgiving holiday! We are grateful for your children and each of you as it truly takes a village, and we are so thankful to be a part of your village!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Courtney & Ms. Lowe
P.S. Did you happen to see the beautiful new shade sails on our primary playground yet?! Pictures to come but thank you to our PTO for raising funds during last year's Turkey Trot and to the West Clermont School District for partnering for the funds to provide some shade on sunny days!
Grade-level newsletters will be updated every two weeks.
Our Discover team newsletter will be updated quarterly.
Report Cards
You may access your student’s report card via the Parent Portal. Here are step-by-step directions:
School Fees and Lunch Money
If you are experiencing problems with Autopay on the PaySchools App, you will need to contact the Support line through PaySchools at 1-877-393-6628. Child Nutrition does not have access to PaySchools in order to answer your questions. PaySchools is aware that there have been issues in regards to payments posting and balance discrepancies on student lunch accounts. For updated balances, Child Nutrition suggests registering for a free Titan Account. The link to do so is family.titank12.com.
