Dear Summerside Families,
Summerside was in the spotlight this past week as we were given the opportunity to elevate our student's voices at our West Clermont Board Meeting on Monday night. Fourteen Summerside students presented to the West Clermont School Board Monday evening. Students shared what School Families are at Summerside and what they love about their time with their school family each month. A BIG shout out to Mrs. Vicario (Discovery teacher) and Mrs. Brunner (fifth-grade math teacher) for taking the lead in organizing the presentation with our students, helping them practice and prepare. Our students did a phenomenal job sharing about an engaging and special initiative we are implementing at Summerside to continue to build a strong foundation for our WC Portrait of a Graduate by fostering a sense of community and connection across grade levels and with other adults in our building. THANK YOU to our students that represented Summerside and to their families for being a part of this special opportunity to highlight one of the many great things happening in our building!
We also celebrated the 100th day of school at Summerside on Monday AND Officer Ventree, our Student Resource Officer. Valentine's Day was filled with hearts and smiles throughout the day on Tuesday. We continually hone in on our core instruction every day and welcomed administrators throughout our district on Wednesday to see our instruction in action. We kept our learning momentum going as we wrapped up our week on Thursday with students engaging in content, showing what they know on assessments, and being excited about learning.
Be sure to read and click into the many opportunities below to see even more ways we can shine as Summerside Eagles and West Clermont Wolves as you join us in the opportunities to engage in our annual #LoveWC week ahead!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Courtney & Ms. Lowe
P.S. Monday, 2/20/23 is President's Day so we do not have school. We will look forward to coming back together again on Tuesday morning!

If you are experiencing problems with Autopay on the PaySchools App, you will need to contact the Support line through PaySchools at 1-877-393-6628. Child Nutrition does not have access to PaySchools in order to answer your questions. Dear Parents\Guardians:
Head lice is a common occurrence in school. During the winter months when students wear coats, hats, etc., it is not unlikely to see an increase in the number of cases.
Head lice do not carry disease, nor does their presence indicate that a child is unsanitary. Head lice are transmitted from one head to another directly or possibly indirectly through such items as brushes, hats, headphones, etc. Lice do not fly or jump.
The most common signs of head lice is itching and scratching of the scalp. If your child complains of this, please examine their hair. If you see any visible signs of head lice or nits it is important to treat your child. Your pediatrician can prescribe treatment, however numerous over the counter products are available at drug stores and supermarkets.
Please contact your school Health Assistant with any questions or concerns.

Our Core Values: Together We are, ON THE RISE. R-Relationship, I-Innovation, S-Student Centered, E-Empowerment
We are creating a courageous culture by focusing on our mission of committing to excellence with every learner, every day, every way. We strive to have a safe, caring, positive learning environment where all students have a sense of belonging.
Recently, West Clermont released the Talking to Your Kids About School Safety and Wellbeing Discussion Guide as part of Volume 2 of the WC Roadmap Report. We recognize that school safety may be a tough topic to discuss at home so we developed the guide to help with the conversation with the support of the West Clermont Citizens Advisory Commission (CAC). The easy to use resource has two parts that consist of a Discussion Guide and an in depth survey. We urge you to take some time to have these important conversations with your kids.
We are listening to our students, families and community members and creating a path forward together to ensure all students are future-ready with a competitive advantage. Please attend one of our upcoming Town Hall Meetings.
We have made all feedback or suggestions from our community from our town halls—as well as the YouTube Live recordings of all of our public town hall events—available to the public on a special section of our WolfPack Hub, which can be accessed by clicking here or visiting westcler.org/hub and then clicking on the "Town Halls" button.
Our next public Town Halls are scheduled for:
February 23rd, 2023 at West Clermont Middle School (1341 Clough Pike)
March 23, 2023 at Summerside Elementary (4639 Vermona Drive)
April 27, 2023 at Amelia Elementary (5 East Main Street)
