COEHS AI-Generated Content & Design Guidelines
As we continue to strengthen the COEHS brand and ensure our materials are professional and consistent, I wanted to share a few guidelines regarding AI-generated visuals and design requests.
AI-Generated Images & Graphics
Please do not use AI-generated images, illustrations or graphics in materials representing COEHS. This includes flyers, social media content, digital signage, event promotions, and other materials shared with students, faculty, staff, or the public.
AI can be a helpful tool for brainstorming and other behind-the-scenes work, but AI-generated visuals can create concerns about accuracy, quality, authenticity, and brand consistency. Whenever possible, I want our marketing materials to showcase the real people, programs, and experiences that make COEHS unique.
Please use original COEHS photos, University-approved photos and brand assets, appropriately licensed stock photography or professionally designed graphics that follow Murray State and COEHS branding.
Need Something Designed?
Please reach out! If you need a flyer, social media graphic, digital signage, event promotion, or another marketing piece, I’m more than happy to create something for you.
Please send requests at least 48 hours before you need the completed material. This gives me enough time to design the piece, send it to you for review, and make any needed changes. Larger or more involved projects may require additional time, so the more notice you can give me, the better!
When sending a request, please include as much information as you can — what you’re promoting, the necessary text and details, where the material will be used, and when you need it.
My goal is to make this process as easy as possible while ensuring the materials we put out are polished, professional, and something we can be proud to have representing COEHS.

Get Involved with the 2026 Educators Rising Conference
The Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) is preparing for the Murray State Regional Educators Rising Conference on November 19 from 8 a.m.–1 p.m. in the Curris Center. Last year, nearly 300 students from 22 high schools attended, and we hope to welcome even more future educators this year!
Faculty are invited to get involved by:
Hosting a program table during the browsing session from 8–9 a.m.
Presenting a 40-minute breakout session that inspires students to pursue careers in education.
Judging one of 17 student competitions showcasing students’ skills and creativity.
Educators Rising helps high school students explore the education profession and begin their journey toward becoming future teachers.

CLASSROOM UPDATES
On Wednesday, September 16th, students in Dr. Rogers Health Methods class held story time at Kingdom Kids, a program at Westside Baptist Church. The book “From Head to Toe by Eric Carle” was read by Megan Thompson with students demonstrating animal movements and stretches. Pre-schoolers had fun and learned some valuable moments, all in an effort to facilitate their Physical Literacy.
Dr. Rogers' students will return to Kingdom Kids with another reading and Ruby Simpson kids will also come over to the new HPE classroom for some story time this semester.
Current and former principals came to Alexander Hall to interview students in EDU 485. The experience, feedback, and connections made were wonderful!
EDU 380 students were trained in MTSS/RtI strategies by Ms. Lindsey Crane from Murray Middle and Ms. Tammy Jones from Mayfield Elementary. They are now ready to start their mini practicum experience next week!
Students in FCS 350: Food Science and Lab Management are putting their skills to work through the King Arthur Baking Company’s Bake for Good Challenge. As part of the project, students are learning the art and science of sourdough, from caring for their own starters to preparing and baking fresh loaves.
To kick off the project, students connected virtually with Shannon Monts of @sourdoughgram, who shared her expertise on the sourdough process and offered tips to help students along the way.
Once their loaves are complete, each student will donate a loaf of homemade bread to the Racers Food Pantry, combining hands-on learning with an opportunity to give back to the campus community.
FACULTY UPDATES
Last week, Dr. Samir Patel and Dr. Abbie Morris attended CAEPCon in Arlington, Virginia.
The conference brought together educator preparation professionals for sessions focused on accreditation, assessment, data-informed decision-making, and continuous improvement.
Throughout the conference, sessions explored topics ranging from strengthening quality assurance systems and preparing for accreditation reviews to using data and emerging technologies to support educator preparation.

Scholarship Banquet
Tuesday, September 22
The College of Education and Human Services celebrated its 2026 scholarship recipients Tuesday evening during the annual COEHS Scholarship Recognition Banquet.
Students, families, faculty, staff, donors, and friends of the College came together to recognize the accomplishments of our scholarship recipients and the generosity of those who help make these opportunities possible.

Practicum I/Practicum II Celebration

Our Elementary Education students celebrated an exciting transition as Practicum I students received their name tags ahead of beginning their classroom experiences.
Practicum II students were there to welcome and encourage them as they reached this next step in their teacher preparation journey
IECE Gathering
Thursday, September 17
IECE students came together last week for an afternoon of connection and program updates. During the gathering, Dr. Jessica Branch shared highlights from her recent study tour in Anji County, China, including experiences and insights from Anji Play schools. Students also heard updates from the IECE program and had an opportunity to connect with faculty and classmates.
Healthy Horseplay
Saturday, September 19
Healthy Horseplay gave local children the opportunity to get outside, get moving, and enjoy the simple fun of play. Through games, hands-on activities, and plenty of opportunities to explore, the event encouraged children to stay active while having fun. The event was held in celebration of National Day of Play and highlighted the important role movement and play have in supporting healthy, active lifestyles.
