DEPARTMENT UPDATES
Dr. Jessica Pryor and I had the opportunity to attend the Fall KySTE event in Lexington, KY on Friday, October 25. We participated in a full-day workshop with Dr. Scott McLeod, creator of the 4-Shifts Technology Framework.
We participated in engaging discussion and hands-on learning centering around harnessing technology for deeper learning. Dr. Pryor and I are excited to share about what we learned with the faculty and students in COEHS.
The Criminal Justice Program hosted a field trip to the West Kentucky Correctional Complex at the end of October. WKCC is two prisons, a medium security men's prison and a minimum security women's prison.
Students were able to tour both facilities, ask questions, and even sample prison food. It was a very positive and educational experience.
STUDENT ORGANIZATION UPDATES
The Kentucky Education Association Aspiring Educators volunteered at Soup for the Soul.
Students helped prepare and serve meals for people experiencing food insecurity.
