CLASSROOM UPDATES
This past Monday, Dr. Rogers and his HPE 175 (Foundation of Health and Physical Education) students visited with Monte Kennedy at the DevSource Esports Arena on the 1st floor of the Curris Center. After their visit, students participated in a Pair and Share Discussion. They were asked to consider if "Esports" are actually "Real Sports?"
Some questions they considered, included:
What constitutes a sport? Consider definitions from organizations like the International Olympic Committee and dictionaries.
The physical and mental demands of esports.
Arguments for and against classifying esports as sports.
What are some Case studies or examples of professional esports tournaments, including player training regimens.
There was some great discussion!
PROGRAM UPDATES
Exciting upgrades for the Health and Physical Education (HPE) program!
