i3 and its mission:
We identify emerging needs, encourage innovation, and make a meaningful impact on our Nation, its allies, and our community.
Event Purpose:
One of i3’s proficiencies is producing training for various branches of the military. This requires Instructional Systems Designers (ISDs) who leverage their educational experience and expertise to increase the effectiveness and retention of the training content. i3 looks for people from all different education backgrounds (right now, most are former public school teachers), so we’d like to share the opportunities we have with anyone who might be interested in using their degree in a novel environment!

CLASSROOM UPDATES
Notebook LM was used by students to download the article “Comprehending Poetry with Social Justice Themes”, written by Tara Concannon-Gibney, and published in “The Reading Teacher.”
Poetry that deals with bullying was examined in the article, a topic that is highly relevant for all children. By clicking “generate” and listening to the podcasts that were created, students gained a deeper understanding of the article. Having listened to podcasts, they reflected on the following questions: How did the writer plan to teach the poem "Left Out" by Celia Warren, which focuses on bullying? What types of activities did she introduce to her students?
Notebook LM has been described by students as a useful learning tool for clarifying concepts, reviewing literature, and generating hypothetical questions or discussions based on the input materials.
