CLASSROOM UPDATE
Elementary Education's Practicum II group went to Calvert City Elementary School on 11/20. This is the second year that Calvert City Elementary School invited our Practicum II students to run STEM day science rotations. All 20 of our ELE 413 pre-service teachers planned for, taught, and managed hands-on learning opportunities for students grades 3-5. These centers focused primarily on physics including Newton's laws, engineering principles, and forces. This was a great opportunity for our pre-service teachers to practice the pedagogy they learn about in their Elementary Science Methods class.
Despite Tuesday's drizzle, Dr. Vigil provided ProjectWILD training to Elementary Education's Practicum 2 group as part of their ELE 413 Science Methods course.
20 students received certification in ProjectWILD. This program integrates outdoor education and physical activity to support learning in life sciences.
