STEMASH, a large group of students from both STEAM and MASH joined together, mainly revolving around technology. STEAMASH inspires students with a passion in tech to pursue their dreams in innovation. The traits that make up STEAMASH can be found everywhere, and are important qualities to have in life.
STEAMASH is focused on technology, engineering and math. In an interview with STEAMASH Peer Leader, Minaxi Chinnan, she says that “Our main focus is to enrich young [students] and 8th graders about the idea of technology.” STEAMASH’s sole purpose is to familiarize children with hands-on activities and revolutionary tech. Minaxi specifically works on the researching and putting together creations that the younger students work on.
The Peer Leaders have a lot of ongoing projects. As of right now, they are hosting study groups for 6th graders that take place every other A day. In these study groups, they teach various skills such as how to work with Tinkercad (An online modeling tool) and 3D printing. Additionally, they are designing MMS-themed merchandise to eventually sell in the school store, located in the main cafeteria. Furthermore, one of their recent assignments is making a video on tips and tricks to help out the 5th graders transitioning into 6th.
Overall, STEAMASH Peer Leaders are always working hard to give our school a more innovative environment. From having study groups to teaching students to 3D printing new tech their constantly on top of their game.
