MMS Winter Orchestra Concert

Beginning 2025 on a great start, the MMS orchestra held a winter concert shortly after holiday break. Grade Eight students played five challenging pieces, a culmination of all the hard work and dedication students have put in this semester. Sixth & seventh grade students also had an outstanding performance, playing seasonal pieces beautifully. Though the concert itself might have lasted only an hour, it truly put on display the talent, passion, and determination these students have for music.
In addition to performing exclusively with other violin, viola, cello, and bass players, seventh and eighth grade students practiced over this last semester with a symphonic orchestra. Symphonic orchestra meets from 7-8AM on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Musicians in orchestra get to play together with a select group of band ensembles.
Having the opportunity to be in a symphonic orchestra in middle school is unique to MMS. Before I moved here, even the High School in my school district did not offer a symphonic orchestra. Playing at Millburn has given me a greater range of experience as a violinist. The music program here has honestly blown me away. Meeting so many talented students who share my passion for music has also given me a special community in a new school and I could not be happier.
Thank you so much to Mr. Bloomquist, Mrs. Ho, Mrs. Evans, & all the other music directors and parents who make this possible. We can not wait to see you all at our next concert this Spring!
