What is a week of respect in NJ?
School districts observe this week by highlighting multiple ways of showing respect
What’s the purpose of this?
Week of respect teaches students how to respect one another, our community and ourselves, as well as how to prevent bullying and uncomfortable situations in the school. It is also fun for students to dress up differently each day during the Week of Respect - this also helps build community
When did Millburn observe the Week of Respect?
The Week of Respect began on Monday, October 7th and ended on Monday, October 14th.
What did the Week of Respect Include?
Monday 7th - Stomp Out Bullying & Wear Blue Day
Our school honored The World Day of Bullying Prevention by WEARING ALL BLUE.
Tuesday 8th - Hats Off to Hate Bullying Day
Wearing a hat united our school district against bullying.
Wednesday 9th- Band together!!
On this day, students and staff wore a shirt that showed a favorite singer, band or group!!!
Thursday 10th - Team up against bullying
Students and faculty got to sport their favorite team jersey.
Friday 11th - Millburn Middle School within our community
MHS community colors are based on teams in school. To show team spirit, Team B wore blue; Team L wore green; Team T wore red; and Team M wore white. As you can see, the colors are based on each team’s letter. :)
It was great to see how many students and teachers participated!
It really shows that everybody has a respect for each other in our community
Keep the spirit of the Week of Respect alive all year!
