Art is flowing all around us; from the trees by the road to your own bedroom at home. ARROW’s purpose is to integrate art into our school to bring people together. Everyone is always busy with their everyday lives, focusing on the tasks at hand. The art that ARROW creates is here to remind us of the beauty in the world, and show us that we can do anything.
The first main project that ARROW hosted was the Caption for Comics project. In this project the ARROW Peer Leaders created a comic strip that was posted in the hallways. Students were then able to submit a caption that matched the comic through a Google form, then the best caption won a prize.
Along with the Caption for Comics project, ARROW also contributes by using their creations to make our school environment more pleasing. According to ARROW Peer Leaders Rishi S. and Dennis T., “[Our work] makes the school environment more enriching, comfortable, nice to look at, and overall just more welcoming.” ARROW mainly works on projects such as bulletin boards for school drives, hanging decorations in hallways for certain events like Red Ribbon Week, and even working to create set pieces and props for the school play.
Our ARROW peer leaders work hard every day to make our school appear more welcoming. The creativity that each of them possesses radiates throughout the building proving how art joins people together.
Works in progress: ARROW developed cornhole boards in support of the MMS Unified sports team.
