WISH 2.0 is a peer leader group dedicated to charity, interacting not only with the community but also the world to make it a better place. Previously, members of WISH 2.0 have volunteered at a food bank and organized multiple bake sales raising over $500 to donate.
WISH is currently making and hanging posters about recycling to raise money for a charity organization that helps plant and save trees. They are hosting drives for people stuck in between homes in transitional housing. WISH 2.0 also donates to the South Orange Food Bank.
Sarah Twu, one of WISH’s peer leaders, says that she joined WISH because she “wanted to make a difference, not only in our school community, but also in our community and also in the world”. Sarah says that she feels really accomplished after every project they complete and felt that in WISH 2.0 she could voice an idea and she knew that she would be heard. She works hard to “help the world and make a difference” as do all the members of WISH 2.0. This group is truly amazing and they spend hours of their free time to help those in need in a way that is extraordinary. The members choose to put others before their own desires.
We asked two members about their feelings on WISH 2.0:
Sarah Twu: “I strive to help the world and to make a difference.”
Selena Yu: “In community service, you gain the feeling of happiness and achievement.”
Keep up the good work, WISH 2.0!
