Sydney is a creative and curious student who loves design, performing arts, cosmology, and writing. She’s always looking for new ways to tell stories, whether it’s through designing eye-catching layouts or writing engaging articles. Joining the Millburn Penpoint is the perfect way for her to combine her passions and share fun, interesting ideas with others. Sydney has entered numerous writing competitions to strengthen her skills. Recently, she received a Silver Medal in the Scholastic Writing Competition for her poetry. Additionally, before moving to New Jersey, she won the Grimsley's Gifted Writers Guild award for her essay on Lord of the Flies. Her creativity and enthusiasm make her a great addition to the team!

Diya is a talented, ambitious, and creative student who is looking forward to many new opportunities in eighth grade. She belongs to PEN since writing is her hobby, which she does when away from debate and robotics. Diya sought to expand her skills in sixth grade and took a creative writing pre-college program at Duke University. In her articles, she likes to cover technology-related topics that can benefit students. Recently, she wrote an article about digital organization and is working on another about enhancing slideshow presentations. Kateryna is a passionate, creative, and empathetic student who enjoys giving back to her community. She is active in many sports and is always trying something new. She loves Ukrainian Folk Dance, basketball and ice skating. Kateryna is also responsible for her work in school and in Peer Leaders. Being in PEN Peer Leaders is a great experience for her and she looks forward to continue expressing new ideas in the writing.

Sophia Jassal is an eighth-grade student at Millburn Middle School. She has been playing the clarinet since 5th grade. She also owns a teal-cheeked conure and a tortoise. Sophia also does volleyball and runs track. Her favorite book is Different Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys. She has been to India, Colombia, Canada, and Mexico. She also speaks Punjabi, Spanish, Dutch, and English. Sophia also loves hanging out with her friends and hanging out with family.
