As Summer break approaches, everyone wants to beat the heat. Pools, beaches, and ice cream stores will be filled with people, but what if you can’t go to any of those places? I’ve created some incredible recipes for you and your friends to enjoy in the summer.
Watermelon Sorbet:
This is one of the easiest and most refreshing things you can do for yourself in summertime. It also only requires a few ingredients!
Lemon or lime juice to taste
As much watermelon as you want
Fresh mint(optional)
Dice up your watermelon and place it into the freezer on a sheet of parchment paper. Freeze it until frozen(should take 4-5 hours)
Next, add your watermelon to a high-powered blender and blend until pureed
Next, add your lime juice and mint directly into the blender and continue to blend for about 10 more seconds
Finally, add your mixture into a glass container and freeze until frozen.
Once frozen, the sorbet is ready to serve, and you can use a spoon to remove it.
Frozen Berry Smoothie
This is a smoothie recipe that I use often, and it’s high in protein and contains no sugar as well!
1 cup Greek yogurt
1 cup ice
1 banana
½ cup berries(of your choice)
1 tablespoon honey
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth
If the consistency is too thick, you can add some water(this can depend on the type of berries used)
Pour into a cup, and you’re done.
