What we say can have a big impact on the people around us. Because of this, the Bible tells us that we should be careful about the words we use. Once we say something and the words have come out of our mouths, we can’t take them back. So, it’s important to think about what we’re about what we want to say

Ask yourself:

• Is what I’m about to say helpful?

• Is it true?

• Would Jesus talk to someone like that?

• How would I feel if someone said that to me?

1. Have children make a face on a paper plate. Have children write the verse on the face (help younger kiddos.)

2. Have children make a long tongue and secure to the plate using glue!

1. Start by squeezing the toothpaste tubes onto plates. Players must race to put the toothpaste back into the toothpaste tube using their straws. At the end of the game, talk with the kiddos about how words cannot be taken back once they are said.

1. Players must sit in a circle or stand in a straight line. They need to be close enough that whispering is possible, but not so close that players can hear each other whisper.

2. The first person in the line or circle whispers a word or phrase into the ear of the person sitting or standing to their right.

3. Players whisper the phrase to their neighbors until it reaches the last player in line.

4. The last player says the word or phrase out loud so everyone can hear how much it has changed from the first whisper at the beginning of the circle or line.
