Introduction

What does Lifeline church believe it's job is? Our mission: We exist to meet the needs of people.

WE BELIEVE EVERYONE HAS 4 MAJOR NEEDS IN THEIR LIVES:

1. TO LOVE GOD: Our greatest need is to have a loving and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. How we meet this need: Dynamic Weekend Worship Services in which people are invited to accept that free gift of salvation, and begin that loving relationship. “His intent was that now through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known.” - Ephesians 3:10

2. TO LOVE OTHERS: We all need the safety and security of a spiritual relationship with others. How we meet this need: Life-Giving Lifeline Connection Groups. “...yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some.” - 1 Corinthians 9:22

3. TO SERVE GOD: We must discover the unique gifts God created in us, so that we can be better equipped to serve God. How we meet this need: Growth Track. “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” - Psalm 139:14

4. TO SERVE OTHERS: We all desire to have purpose and the fulfillment of God’s call in our lives. How we meet this need: Dream Teams. “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” - Ephesians 2:10

Activities

Activity 1 "Love God/Love Others"

Time: 10-15 minutes

Materials needed from the cart:

Foam letters
Foam papers (half sheets)
Foam heart and people stickers

Directions: Let the kids pick out a piece of foam paper any color. First talk about how this represents the church and how our vision is to "Love God and Love Others". Tell them that we are going to add to our page with stickers spelling out GOD in the center of our page just as God is the center of our Church! Next we add the people, This represents the people both in and outside of our church! Lastly we add the hearts showing that we give our love to God and people. Ask the kids if they have seen that present in our church? Help them come up with some examples of way they can do this in the future.

Activity 2 "Stained Glass Cross Necklace"

Time: 10-15 minutes

Materials needed from the cart:

Cross-shaped paper
Colored stickers to add

Directions: Watch the video above for directions on how to conduct the object lesson. When I did this, I had each child take a turn placing the cup over the candle. They loved being involved and we did it several times! I made sure that we related the placing of the cup to God providing us peace and taking away all of our negative emotions.

Relation to Peace: Instead of using this object lesson with Jesus came to the earth to save us from sin, relate it to the gift of peace. Tell them that we are the penny... and as you pour in the water and food coloring that is stress, worry, fear, hard times, and sadness that may come into our lives. As you place the candle tell them it represents God's gift of the Fruit of the Spirit Peace. The Fruit of the Spirit is always there, we just have to ask God to engage it into our lives and fully give our worries over to him in order to receive them. When we light the candle, we give it to God, and then when the cup is placed it represents Him providing us with Peace! Each time you do this with the kids, keep saying "worry" and then "peace" as a group each time the cup is being placed so that they understand that God takes away our worry even though the food coloring and water is still around us and that didn't change.

Activity 3 "Party Games!!!"

Time: 30-40 minutes

Materials needed from the cart:

Three-legged race
Pinita
Potato sack game

Activity 4 "Pin the Steeple on the Church"

Time: 10-15 minutes

Materials needed from the cart:

Blindfolds
Picture of Church
Steeples made out of paper.

Directions: This is your typical game of pin the tail on the donkey! Blindfold the kids and let them take turns spinning around and attempting to get the steeple on the church!

Wrap It Up!

Snacks can be given at this time, if needed

-Come together and sit in a circle to talk about what they learned today. Ask them the same questions that you asked at the beginning of the day. How are their answers different now that they know more about Lifeline Church? Talk about what they can go home and tell their family about Lifeline Church.

-Ask if anyone has a prayer request/praise report. Pray over requests.

-Worship time- Have the kids go find a spot to themselves and have some time with God (play the song below for around 3/5 minutes).

Last Minute Filler Ideas

-Have them gather around the table and draw a picture or write a letter to their families about what they learned today.

-Play a game of some sort. (If you have the hula hoops, have them join hands in a circle and pass the hula hoop around the circle without breaking their hands)
