Jesus Cleanses the Temple
10:00-10:15 - Get to know new kids, entertain early arrivals until lesson begins
Have you ever been angry at a family member or friend? Did you have a right to be angry? What did you do when you were angry? Do you think you did anything wrong when you were angry?
Today, we are going to learn about a time when Jesus was angry.
What did Jesus do when he entered the temple?
He drove out those who were selling and overturned their tables
Why was he so angry?
We don't really know, but he accused them of turning his Father's house into a den of robbers
Why were the Pharisees upset at Jesus?
Because even though he did this, the people still loved him because he was healing them
Did Jesus sin when he was angry?
No - see above for why
In this story, we learn that Jesus got angry when he saw people taking advantage of others in the temple. God loves us and forgives our sins. But we should remember that God is also just - which means that he doesn't overlook sin. He still judges us as sinful. But he poured out all his righteous anger and punishment on Jesus to make forgiveness available to us. Have you accepted Jesus' forgiveness for the times you have broken his rules?

Out of your construction paper, cut out 4 legs, the turtle’s head and it’s tail.
Next slather a good amount of glue on your paper plate.
Use a foam paint brush to really cover the paper plate in glue.
Next have your child child place the various colors of brown and green squares on the paper plate, until it’s completely covered. This is now the turtle shell.
Now it’s time for the final steps! To finish off the paper plate turtle craft – staple the construction paper pieces in the designated spots to give the turtle life.
Add any other embellishments you see fit.
And that’s it! Allow your turtle piece to dry completely and then display it proudly for ALL to see!

Divide students into two teams. They stand at opposite sides of your play area. Their goal is to avoid hitting the other team while making the other team hit them. If someone throws and hits a member of the other team, they’re out. Meanwhile, members of the other team can dive in front of thrown balls to get the thrower out.
Players can’t hold balls. They have three seconds to throw, or they’re out. If a ball stays on one side for more than five seconds, the whole team is out. You can pretend the balls are bombs that they want to throw out of their area without hitting anyone else.
The first team to get all the members of the opposite team out wins.
