What do you remember about Moses? (answers could include he was born and his mother placed him in a basket to send him down the river, he was found by pharaoh and grew up royalty, he made a mistake and fled Egypt, God came to him in a burning bush and told him to return to Egypt, the 10 plagues that God placed over Egypt because the Pharaoh wouldn't free the Israelites, and all about the time in the wilderness after Moses parted the red sea) Today we are going to learn about how God told Moses to write down the ten commandments!
What is a commandment? A commandment is like a rule! God gave Moses 10 commandments to deliver to the people. Why do you think God decided it was time to provide commandments to His people? Lets learn what commandments God gives us!
Put God first! God is number 1.
Don't worship idols.
Don't misuse God's name.
Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy.
Honor your father and mother.
Don't murder.
Don't commit adultery.
Don't steal.
Don't lie.
Don't crave what others have.

Directions: this is a two part activity! Start with the game and then transition to the craft.
Game
Divide the kids into two teams
When you say go, one kid will go "to the mountain" (which is really just a chair) and pick up one popsicle stick and bring it back to the team.
The team will decide what number commandment is on the popsicle stick and place it in order on their tablet (which is grey construction paper!)
Then the next person from the team will go get one popsicle stick and bring it back. The team will order it and keep going in this process until all 10 popsicle sticks have been retrieved and ordered.
The first team to get all the popsicle sticks and place them in the correct order wins.
Activity
Each team will take their tablet to the big table and then they can use it as a guide to create their own set of commandments that they can take home with them and hang up.
To begin, each child needs 10 popsicle sticks. On each one, they will use markers to write one commandment (similar to the picture above) and decorate it.
When they get all 10 commandments on 10 popsicle sticks, they will tape them in order by placing tape on the back side of the sticks.
Lastly, they will loop some ribbon and tape it to the top of their commandments to create a hanger!

Directions
Today we are taking communion in big church. Talk about what communion is, show the videos if you want to. Then pretend that we are sitting at the last supper table together.
Give the kids the cracker and say what does this represent (they should respond with the body of Jesus that died for us.)
Give the kids the grape juice and as what it represents (they should respond with the blood of Jesus that was shed.)
Talk about how thankful we are that we get to have the life we do here on earth and forever in heaven because of Jesus dying for our sins.
The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." 1 Corinthians 11:23-25
-Have them gather around the table and draw a picture or write a letter to their families about what they learned today.
-Play a game of some sort. (If you have the hula hoops, have them join hands in a circle and pass the hula hoop around the circle without breaking their hands)
