we need to change are perspective of design from things that are made up of parts to a perspective that also looks at the possibility of using 1 part to make the whole object.

Grasshopper tutorials
this first tutorial was very helpful for understanding how some of the basic parts of grasshopper work and also just getting used to the format of grasshopper.
it was cool to learn many of the different ways of creating a cylinder. some of the ways were ones I hadn't used in rhino.
I never knew that this shape was called a torus. isn't using loft one of the worst ways of making a torus because you can pipe a circle or sweep a cirlcle around a circle?
I made a collection of tables that are 8 sided and had cone legs
the cone legs were very annoying to figure out because there isn't a good way of flipping it you have to rotate.
This made making fluid loft shapes much easier but I sometimes found that I didn't understand how the graph related to the shape being created.
this makes it easier to make web patterns
2D illusion Pattern
I understand that the weavebird's mesh thicken component basically extrudes all the surfaces of a mesh but I don't understand what catmull clark does or some of the other components.
I really enjoy the fluidity of the shape you can get in the end. I don't really understand where the shape in the middle comes from.
this simplifies making this type of pattern so much. I spent quite a bit of time struggling to understand how I could uncap the cylinders but was able to do it in the end (with help from Samu).
I don't really understand how the different polygon zones are created by the voronoi component. it seems like it take the populated points and then devides the surface up equaly distant from each of the closest points. I also decided to add in a surface morph because i have used that a lot recently.
