Shapeways Project: Final Piece
Shapeways Project: Final Piece
The final printed piece will be ~9cm long (wingspan), ~4cm tall (head to foot), and 2.5mm thick. It will be made of fine detail polished silver.

Grasshopper Tutorial: Voronoi Cell
Above are the shapes I made when messing around with different sliders.
Grasshopper Tutorial: Sphere Voronoi
Above is a red and black voronoi sphere.
Grasshopper Components I'm Confused About:
Evaluate Surface
Domain/Domain^2
Graft
Maelstrom
Bezier Span
Grasshopper Tutorial: Paneling with Surface Morph
Above is what I made by messing around with the dimensions of the cylinder.
Introduction to Grasshopper: Graph Mapper
Above are some shapes I made using different types of graphs.
Grasshopper Tutorial: 2D Illusion Pattern
Above is a cool design I made using a curve, Maelstrom and polar array.
Grasshopper Tutorial: Curves & Surfaces
Above is a caterpillar on an apple that I made using spheres (and the eyes, antennae, & coloring in rhino).
Grasshopper Tutorial: Torus
Above is a bagel on a plate that I made using lots of extrusions and revolutions.
Grasshopper Tutorial: Voronoi on 2D Surface
Above is a shape I made by scaling up the voronoi cells to 9, then revolving the scaled-up cells around a line perpendicular to the y axis.
Grasshopper Tutorial: Tesselations Basics
Above is what I created by arraying a radial.
Grasshopper Tutorial: Cylinders
Above is the cylinder "wedding cake" I created using the revolution, extrusion and loft methods.
Grasshopper Tutorial: Basics
Below is the tutorial; above is what I created while messing around with voronoi and polar array.
3D Printing Challenge
This is my third and final iteration. I chose to return to the chain-link style, but made all the links circles in case the shape was interfering with the print. This has not yet been printed.
Above is my second draft. I never printed this one, because I didn't like the lack of flexibiility it would have.
Above is my first draft. I printed it, but the printer malfunctioned and stopped half-way through.
