3D Printing & Parametric Design

https://parametrichouse.com/spiral-stair-01/

grasshopper basics:

this was kinda confusing because It was knew to me. but It was also fun because It so different.

Tessellations basics:

all these tesselations were pretty strait forward so It wasnt too hard. Its cool that you can do this so fast In grasshopper but It would be so tedious and take a while In rhino.

voronoi on 2d surface:

this one was pretty confusing. I understand all the Inputs and outputs but the populate 2d command seems kind of ranomized so It seems to be kinda hard to control.

cylinders:

this was a very easy tutorial. I think of all the methods Im prolly gonna use the cylinder command the most because Its the fastest.

this Is just the tutorial but I switched up the shape being arrayed.

torus:

this was a very short and easy tutorial. I feel like I might end up forgetting the loft options part so Ima jus svae this tutorial.

Table:

this tutorila was very long and it introduced alot of new commands and was pretty hard. i understand all the controls now but right after doing it i didnt understand the discontinuity command. in this one I changed the table top to a hexagon

i used triangular to make the table top. also made this design with square based legs.

data tree:

this one was Increadible confusing and I dont really understand It at all. I dont think I can apply these methods to my designs because they just seem too mathematical. and I havent learned this kind of math.

2d Illusion pattern:

the tutorial was fun. It wasnt too hard and after I was done It was pretty easy to redo off memory and apply different kinds of shapes Into It.

i changed the tutorial so that i input a rectangle into polar array instead of a point

i made it so that you can easily change what's being inputed into the polar array. this is a polygon with 10 sides.

graph mapper:

the first one i made was crazy and i found most of the shapes you can make looked like this.

this next one i realized that there was kind of a sweet spot you can find to make it smoother

this one i used that sweetspot to make a vase looking shape.

sphere voronoi:

I was able to finish the tutorial. It was pretty dificult due to the new commands but after asking the teacher what they did, It came together and I understand their purpose. I also think I can use the populate geometry and voronoi 3d command better.

after doing the voronoi sphere I tried tweaking the steps using a box and ended up making this.

I changed It a bit because the pipe was overlapping. after remembering on the things I can do when the command Is being over complicated I made the curves Input of multipipe flattened so It was an actual closed curve

panelling with surface morph:

this tutorial was really confusing. I dont really understand the commands In It so I will be asking the teacher In class.

this Is a creation I made with the graph mapper and voronoi tutorials

I turned a torus Into this cool design.

voronoi cell:

this tutorial was a cool way to expand the voronoi designs that we were taught. next class Im going to ask the teacher what each of the weaverbirds commans are doing because thats a little confusing.
