Going into this class I thought that you could only 3d pring with plastic but in that video they used a bunch of different matierials. and Its crazy how they put together 2 bacteria that would never see eachother in nature.

I started to make this one and Its very complex but Im worried It wont print.
this one I made second but Its too simple and plain so Im going to try to make a more complex one
this one I made first but Its way to similar to the example so i cant do It
this one Is made up of a bunch of pyrimids and It was relatively easy to make but was definitly the second hardest to make out of all chains
I finished the most confusing of my Ideas and nothing on It Intercects so It theoretically works but I dont know If It can print
I tried to print my curved design but the first 2 didnt work out and just looked like this so I am adding a raft and trying again.
the print that Is using a raft Is working better than all the other ones before. these are the settings I used
we also used supports at 15˚
the print with the raft ended up doing the same thing after the raft was done. after It printed the raft the print didnt stick to the ground and just came up.
I tried to print the pyrimid weave and the print lifted off the bed so I will be adding a raft.
I added the raft and It came out looking good. but when I took It off the raft the bottome was tangled and warped and when I took off the supports, the supports ripped some pieces off because It was too tangles.
as you see the bottome side was very tangled so samu suggested that we use different filiment so I printed It and got It the next day.
this was It with the new filiment and It looks alot better and not as tangled.
after taking off the raft and the supports the top looks perfect.
but the bottom got tangled with the supports and It was very stringy like the last time. while taking off the supports some of the pieces were brocken because It was enwrapped around the peice. were going to have to tweek the supports for the next peice.
this was the print I made to be thicker and rounder edged. It came out far better than any previous work I made. however It still had some Issues like 2 of the pieces came out touching even though they werent touching In the design
the top side looked perfect
one Issue we had was that the bottom was still not perfect. the peaks werent strong. and there wasnt very flat edges of the pyrimids.
I will be re printing It on the ultimaker because the supports work better and they will be easier to take off because they disolve In water.
this print is the one with the soft tpu and it technically took 8 hours but It broke down at least 15 times throughout printing. so In reality It took 4 days. the previous print worked better than this one. It had less stray strings. It also had less errors with the Intercections.
