Halloween, a holiday based on tricks and treats, has been celebrated by many since it became an official holiday in the 20th century. Both adults and children alike dress up as their favorite character to go to parties, watch a parade, carve pumpkins, or trick or treat . However, the most popular activity of all is eating candy.
According to KBTX, a new station located in Texas, 50% percent of Americans eat Halloween candy during this holiday season. But have you ever wondered what the most popular Halloween candy is for Armstrong Jr. / Sr. High School students? To answer this question Armstrong’s newspaper club has conducted a candy poll(right) on students’ favorite candy. The questions asked included: “What is your favorite candy?”, “What is your least favorite candy?”, and “If you give out candy, what candy do you buy?” Here are the results.
Overall people’s favorite candy was Reese Cups with Twix in a close second. People’s least favorite candy tied for first was Skittles, and Sour Patch Kids. The candy most people purchase to give out during Halloween are M&Ms, Reese's, and Kit-kats.
