Baked Apple Fritters

Ingredients:
The Fritters
2 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon allspice
½ cup cold butter
1 ½ cup diced apples (Granny Smith or other baking apples are best)
¾ cup milk
The Broiling Glaze
1 cup powdered sugar
3 tablespoons milk or apple juice
The Finishing Glaze
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons of milk
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 400° F. In a large bowl whisk together the dry ingredients. Cut the butter into pea-sized pieces and add it to the bowl.
Gently stir in the apples. Then add the milk, and stir until just combined.
Spoon onto a greased baking sheet, into 12 globs spaced around 2 inches apart.
Bake for 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
Mix the Broiling Glaze ingredients until combined.
Brush the boiling glaze onto the fritters and place under minutes).Let cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before slicing.r a broiler until golden brown.
Take it out and place it on a wire rack to cool, mix the finishing glaze until combined, and brush on the finishing glaze.
