Kittanning Holds Hometown Holiday Event

Kittanning Hometown Holiday Event had their annual Festival in the Streets on Saturday, Nov. 18. This year yielded the event's biggest attendance yet. Along with the celebration, The Festival of Trees also had a record amount this year with 158 total trees lining the Kittanning Riverfront Park.
Festivities in the Streets started at 3 p.m. and concluded at 8 p.m. with a firework show. At the event there were multiple food trucks, vendors, performances, pie-eating contests and activities for the kids in the community. The star activity of the night was a free meet-and-greet with Santa.
AHS was well-represented during the event. Both the cheerleaders and chorus were featured on stage at KHHE. Rocco Swartz, a junior at AHS, was the winner of the pie eating contest, out-eating several other AHS students.
