Boys Soccer Possibly Makes It To Playoffs for First Time

This year, the boys soccer team is extremely close to making it to playoffs for the first time in Armstrong High School history. According to Alec Formaini, the soccer team has doubled the number of section wins of any previous season. The team is doing extremely well, especially compared to previous seasons. For example, the team beat Mars 1-0 this year, when, in the past, they were unable to win against the team.
“We have a young team,” Alec said, which will mean more success in the future, even when this year’s seniors are gone.
In regards to strategy, the team will talk it out with the players and coach, as well as watch the other teams’ performances. If there is an especially good player on the other team, the Armstrong team will have someone “shadow” him, meaning that the person won’t leave the player’s hip, functionally taking him out of the game.
Some of this year’s soccer seniors are planning on playing soccer in college, which Alec is excited to see where they go, hoping that they get to where they want to be.
Some advice Alec has for any upcoming players would be to “don’t quit your sports,” even if you don't start at all one year, just wait it out and, on your senior year at least, it will be worth it.
