Various types of homecoming dresses have gone in and out of style since homecoming debuted in high schools in the 1920s. From long and loose to tight and short the style for homecoming has never stayed consistent. Teenagers everywhere wonder ¨What is in style now? What are my peers going to be wearing to this semi-formal event?¨ To aid these concerns we went around Armstrong Jr. Sr. High School to ask the student population, ¨What are YOU wearing to homecoming 2024?¨
The students questioned consisted of freshman Ilsa Livengood, sophomore Carlee Beers, junior Emily Bouch, and senior Brenna Zurn.
Q: Where did you purchase your dress?
A: Ilsa Livengood, “One Enchanted Evening.”
Carlee Beers, “Formal Dresses for Less.”
Emily Bouch, “Episode at Ross Park”
Brenna Zurn, “Mb Prom in Greensburg.”
Q: What color is your dress?
A: Ilsa Livengood, “Maroon.”
Carlee Beers, “Pink.”
Emily Bouch, “Green.”
Brenna Zurn, “Black, but patterned.”
Q: What style were you looking for?
A: Ilsa Livengood, “I was looking for a dress that had a slit on the bottom, and was slim fitting.”
Carlee Beers, “I was looking for a V-neck dress that was tight.”
Emily Bouch, “I was mainly looking for a tight green dress.
Brenna Zurn, “Straight, tight, and short.”
While there were no trends in the first two questions, “Where did you purchase your dress?”, “What color is your dress?”, the question, “What style were you looking for?” seemed to be the hot topic, most teenagers were gravitating towards what seemed to be a tight, more slim-fitting dress. This shows that teenagers have a tendency to not only think alike but dress alike. Based on these interviews, what are YOU going to be wearing to homecoming 2024?!
