My name is Mia Shaffer, and i'm a senior at AHS. I've been in newspaper for three years now, and I love it because I enjoy writing, formatting, photography, and advertising. I am the secretary of Finer Things Book Club, and I am the librarian of the band. I'm involved in Taiko, SADD Club, and Key Club as well. I have been a member in the YSU English Festival for 2 years now. I look forward to serving The Hawks' View as Editor-in-Chief and a writer!

My name is Kendall Bussard. I am a junior, and this is my first year apart of newspaper. I am involved in other activities like Volleyball, Cheerleading, and Lacrosse. Some other clubs I'm a part of are SADD club, Key club, Lab Assistants, Leo club, junior class cabinet, and I'm he responding secretary AHS student council. I decided to join newspaper because I really enjoy writing, reading, and organizing social medias/websites. I look forward to contributing to The Hawks' View as the Website Coordinator for the 2025-2026 school year!

My name is Lily Gutherie and I am a junior at AHS. This is my first year being apart of Newspaper, and I decided to join because I love to read and write! I have won several writing awards at the YSU English festival, and I am apart of LEO club, chorus, and class cabinet. I am looking forward to serving as the co-editor of Newspaper!

My name is Gracie Heilman, and I’m a senior at AHS. This is my second year as a member of The Hawks’ View, where I serve as treasurer. I joined newspaper because I’ve always loved creative writing and the way words can shape stories that connect people across our school community. Outside of newspaper, I’m involved in Student Council, Class Cabinet, Leo Club, Robotics Club, National Honor Society, Girls Varsity Soccer, and the AHS Musical. I’m excited to continue contributing to The Hawks’ View through writing and collaboration, helping our publication capture the energy and voices of AHS.

Hi! I'm Leah Hogamier, the communications director for The Hawk's View. I'm a senior at AHS and involved in Book club, Quiz Bowl, Class Cabinet, and the AHS Lab Assistant program. i'm passionate about connecting with others and highlighting the accomplishments within our school community. I look forward to contributing to a positive, engaging, and well-informed environment within our school.
Advisor
Mrs. Kidder is an English teacher at AHS. She also teaches Creative Writing I and Creative Writing II. In the spring of 2016, Mrs. Kidder was first asked to serve as the newspaper advisor. Since then, she's advised countless students participating in The Hawks' View and the development of the paper into the product that it is today. "Every year brings new growth and ideas as the world of communication constantly changes." Mrs. Kidder is extremely proud of what the students have accomplished already this year. "It is quite fabulous to work with students who choose extra writing as their after-school activity!"
Staff Bios
My name is Brooke Barton and I'm a sophomore at AHS! This is my first year in newspaper club, and I decided to join because I love writing, editing, and journalism. I'm also a part of both Marching and Concert Band, playing the clarinet and alto saxophone, Outreach Club, Photography Club, Chorus, and I also do archery outside of school! I've won two writing awards at the Youngstown State University English Festival during both my 8th grade year and my freshman year, and an award for the art contest my freshman year. I love reading, having read 115 books during my freshman school year alone! I love crafting and creating writings for all sorts of media, and I'm honored to be serving The Hawks' View as a writer and staff member!
My name is Delaney Bowser, and I am a senior at AHS. I've been apart of newspaper for two years, and I love it because I can be creative and I enjoy writing. I am also apart of Leo club and the tennis team. I am so proud to be part of this year's staff.
Hello, I'm Aiden Townsend- a junior at Armstrong. This is my first year in newspaper club. I joined because I wanted to learn more about the art of journalism. I would really like to showcase the many talents of Armstrong's students. In addition to being in the newspaper club, I'm also a lab assistant for Ms. Kotyk and Ms. Douglas. I hope to support the efforts of the student body here at AHS. I want to bring out our school spirit, and I hope for a great school year.
My name is Delaney Minteer, and I’m a junior at AHS. This is my first year with the Hawks’ View! I joined because of my interest in writing and highlighting school events. I am involved in many clubs, and hold officer positions in Choir (Treasurer), Musical (Secretary), Garden Club (Secretary), Class Cabinet (Recording Secretary), and Book Club (Vice President). I am also a member of Yearbook, Photography Club, Robotics, LEO, and STUCO. Outside of school, I participate in musicals at the Armstrong Community Theater and Sing Hosanna! I am very excited to highlight some of our schools most interesting events for our readers!
My name is Madison Daniels, I am a sophomore at AHS. I have been a member of newspaper since freshmen year and have enjoyed it a lot, mostly because I have always loved writing, being a part of something important, and just being around others who feel the same. I am also in Garden club, Leo club, Art club, Yearbook club and also joining the musical cast as a member in ensemble for the first time. I have been accepted in the YSU English Festival twice now, and have enjoyed myself heavily. I have always loved being a member in The Hawks' View and growing with it.
