All Star Winter Reading at the County Library
Educators Make a Difference!
As a Salt Lake County educator, we are asking you to encourage students and caregivers to sign up for the County Library's 2023 All-Star Winter Reading Challenge.
Why?
Student participation in the All-Star Winter Reading program has many benefits, including social, mental, emotional, and physical development, knowledge retention, improved test scores, and increased interest in school subjects. Essentially, All-Star Winter Reading is just like Summer Reading, but cozier, with more blankets and maybe some basketballs!
Sign up your class as a group
Contact your local County Librarian, either via email, phone, or visiting a branch.
Ask to sign up for All-Star Winter Reading as a group or classroom.
Be prepared with the name of your school, the average age of your students, and how many students are in your class.
Read, Create, Learn, Play and Connect as a classroom January 3–February 18.
Record your activities for the whole classroom in the Beanstack app.
One activity every other day will ensure you complete the challenge!
Discuss with your County Librarian the best way to collect prize books for your class. You can arrange a field trip to the library or schedule a visit in your classroom.
Cost?
The All-Star Winter Reading program is free of charge so no one is excluded for financial reasons.
